HUNNARBAAZ! Skilled to Win! is a pioneering one hour weekly reality TV show on Doordarshan National that searches for India's Best Skill Star and Best Innovator.
Telecast every Sunday at 11 am from 9th February 2014 for 40 weeks
HUNNARBAAZ! Skilled to Win! will help millions of young Indians become aware of the various ways in which they can upgrade their skills, become employable and commercially utilise their inventive genius to pr ovide for themselves. The show does this by showcasing the most in-demand skills across different Industry sectors, creating contests and tasks around these skill sets and featuring employment and entrepreneurship opportunities available for people with these skills.
After a rigorous series of tests that sees participants collaborating and facing off against each other, India's best Skills Star and Innovator will be crowned. Through this sustained media spotlight,HUNNARBAAZ! Skilled to Win! will contribute to making skills aspirational, showing the country the heights the truly skilled and innovative can reach, and taking the message of skilling and innovation to every section of society across India, including the disadvantaged, the remote, and the illiterate.
HUNNARBAAZ! Skilled to Win! is supported in part by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, National Skill Development Corporation, National Innovation Foundation, FICCI, Doordarshan, Cinema Vision India, among numerous other national agencies and institutions.
HUNNARBAAZ! Skilled to Win! has a confirmed broadcast schedule of 40 episodes of 1 hour each on Doordarshan National every Sunday at 11.00 am from 9th February 2014 for 40 weeks.
The 40 episodes are grouped as Zonal (episodes 1-10), Sector Competition (episodes 11-30), Team Mission (episodes 31-38), and Grand Finale (episodes 39-40).
Each episode will
- be compared by an MC;
- showcase various skills and professions;
- showcase innovators and gamechangers;
- contain competitions, fun facts, career guidance;
- award winners of competitions, innovators and gamechangers.
India is facing a severe skills shortage. But with one of the world's youngest population, it also has an unprecedented opportunity to convert this shortfall into an advantage if only it can increase skilling amongst the youth.
Training India's skills-deficient population is vitally important to ensure robust growth. Taking on this challenge is the Prime Minister's Skills Development Mission which is set to create 500 million skilled people by 2022.
In order to both meet the demands of new industries requiring a variety of new skills, as well as to encourage people to continue to hone traditional skills, it becomes important to shine a spotlight on skills and professions, publicise ITIs and other training opportunities and centres, and inform people of the benefits of upskilling.
One of the best ways to do that is to harness the power of the media to create HUNNARBAAZ! Skilled to Win!, India's first-ever reality TV show on skilling and innovation.
HUNNARBAAZ and its PARTNERS together are addressing the trained manpower needs of the industry across sectors by developing a cohesive and integrated framework and a conducive environment for training based on industry needs.
HUNNARBAAZ is creating a platform to showcase the talent of skilled youths from different states and bringing all skills and innovators on the same platform.

HUNNARBAAZ! Skilled To Win! showcases contestants across various sectors, their skills, aspirations and ambitions to instill a feeling of inspiration amongst the audience.
Since there is a big challenge in mobilizing candidates for various training programs, associating with HUNNARBAAZ! Skilled To Win! can be a path-breaking effort in promotion of skills as a vocation among school and college students and creating a national database of skilled people.
Feature experts from skill development and training institutes, NGOs and industry associations to guide those in need by shedding light on skill development and its importance.
Partnering Organisation can nominate eminent mentors, guides and trainers to feature in the sector, and encourage accreditation/certification of students, training providers, and of trainers and trainees in order to validate the skills and experience levels of these entities.
Development and maintenance of a database of skilled trainees, trainers and employers that would serve to bridge the skill gap of demand and supply of jobs in India.
